Under an ASI contract, with prime contractor Università degli Studi di Udine (Prof. Saverio Ambesi), DTM was responsible for the industrial workpackage of the study "From molecules to man: Biotechnological Applications of Space Research".

The industrial activity, coordinated by DTM, has allowed to obtain a list of "scientific requirements" that have been compared with the characteristics of the facilitities developed by Italian industries.
