Quasi static test facilities
DTM since many years is managing testing activities of aerospace equipments for the most important Aerospace prime contractors: vibration testing, proof pressure tests, leak tests, quasi static tests, fatigue tests and many other specific verifications. In particular DTM has the capability to design and realize testing facilities for the most demanding applications.
For Rheinmetall Italia DTM designed and realized the testing jig and electronic which has been used by to qualify the VEGA interstage 2-3. The testing apparatus comprised hydraulic system capable of providing compression and flexural forces upto 100 ton and the Vega interstage was fully controlled by means of roughly one hundred between strain gages and position sensors.
For Thales Alenia Space DTM designed and realized the testing jig and electronic which has been used by to qualify and accept the Sentinel 1 Tank Support Structure qualification and flight models. Also in this case the TSS was fully controlled by means of strain gages and position sensors. DTM has been also in charge to demonstrate the correlation between expected structural analysis deformations and real displacements.
